Woodfroot Table
It seems the more the three of us work together, the more simplistic and vague our planning becomes. I was thinking earlier today of the creators I reach out to work with when I am in need of a project with little agenda. Becky and Sarah are two of the first on my thoughts. The way we are able to ease into a day of creating together without calculating too much always leaves me feeling rested and reignited despite spending an entire day fully engaged in unpacking a vision as it comes. This day was refreshing in every sense of the word. They gathered buckets of flowers, I brought my gear, we started with a couple glasses of wine, and ended with floral arrangements and a delicious spread happily featuring the delightful Woodfroot Cider. Between Becky’s eye for detail and Sarah’s gifted hands (she made the ceramic plates herself - there is no ceiling on that woman’s talents), my role as the photographer was made very easy. I love documenting days like this because to me it is all about an unfolding process that is meaningful to reflect on in hindsight, as we had little idea of what it may look like beforehand. I hope these photos do well to invite you into this collaboration with Woodfroot.
“The orchard at Corn Hill Nursery is nestled in a pastoral valley on Canada’s east coast. It’s ancient trees are grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. Together with wild apples gathered from nearby hedgerows, the resulting cider is guided only by the season, natural yeast, and time.”
Our local feature for this table, Woodfroot Cider, can be found on the shelves of the Cedar Cafe at Corn Hill Nursery! Woodfroot is a natural cider project created to reflect the flora, fauna, fungi and fruit of rural New Brunswick. Find out more here!
